Masterchefs
Despite buying all the ingredients for us to cook in the kitchen, we delayed our cooking session as the international kitchen only open at specific time of the day😭 But tada! Our food turned out nicer than expected. However, to all of our readers: we advice you to think twice before you decide to cook! We were tired after we cook and were lazy to clean up😢
Shopping Spree
We went to Hongdae to shop during the weekends! Hongdae shopping district is more suitable for our age as there were Line Pop up store, BT21, and clothes store! No doubt, Korea is indeed the #cityoffashion !
We decided to have Lotteria (fast food chain) for lunch as we were surprised that a fast food store can be unmanned too! (note: there are workers, but I guess their job is to mainly prepare the food behind the scene?) CoOL!
Tip: get some off season clothes! Shops have sales and promotions ✨✨✨
🚨🚨🚨 Note: Make sure you read how much meat per portion before you order Korea-Barbeque here! We spent approximately 14000won (/person) on a meal for something that can’t fill up our tummies.
Karaoke Session
“10000won, 30songs, what a steal!” – Holden
There are many coin karaoke shops near our school, and they’re relatively cheap. Guess we all know where we should go when we are stressed 😁
Why did this happen?
My buddy group met for dinner that night. Therefore, each of us have our own plans. My buddy brought us to a bar, and unfortunately, I got kicked out of the bar as I am underage to drink in Korea.
Well, it is a blessing in disguise, as I don’t drink and I am not a fan of drinking too! So I escaped and went out to eat with my international friends 😁✨
Chuseok Eve
Chuseok’s here! We have a long weekend holiday (Friday to Monday) due to Chuseok Festival (Thanksgiving day in Korea). Megane and I wanted to see how “empty” the streets are, and to our surprise, there were still quite a few shops open! We ate ramen and went to emart to run some errands for our sick friend, Holden.
Ps: He’s healthy and fine now after resting for 2 days, he screamed and rapped too much from his karaoke session.
Closing: Writer’s thought
Typhoons hit certain parts of Korea, and our region had a heavy rainstorm on Monday. Thankfully, we don’t have class on Monday so we were safe from getting drenched in the rain.
Week 2 in Korea isn’t as interesting as week 1, as we were trying to adapt to our class and living here. We discovered new places to get cheap food near school, and a nearby supermarket to get small necessities if we need them urgently!
Next up, Megane will be updating our blog for week 3. See you again soon. Cheers 🍻🍻
