Hongdae Shopping Spree
Holden brought his friends (Dat and Jonas) to Hongdae to hunt for anime shops and vintage shopping! He loves vintage shopping and hence he brought the boys there to shop for more vintage goods.
Fun fact: He tried to bargain for an unpriced Bal shirt from 100,000 won to 40,000won, but unfortunately, he failed.
Express Bus Terminal – Goto Mall underground shopping district
Megane and I made a spontaneous trip to Goto Mall for clothes shopping. Goto Mall is relatively near to our campus (approx. 45 mins travel) and the variety there is pretty good!
The shops are starting to sell fall-winter clothes, while the majority were having sales and promotions for the summer clothes.
Megane bought cool clothes at a steal price! #swag
#0926: Monthsary with Korea 😻
Wow, it has been a month ever since we first came to Korea. We are already comfortable with the environment here and getting our daily necessities near the school.
However, the language barrier when we want to communicate with shopkeepers or supermarket staff. Well, we manage to order and ask for more side dishes in Korean.
Because we made a spontaneous trip to Express Bus Terminal yesterday, most of the shops were closing. When Megane made the decision to buy the dress, the shop closed 😦 So she went back to get more goods today!

📍Suwon-si
GTN (Global Talent Network) hosted a trip to watch baseball match for us exchange students! I went there without knowing anything about baseball, but my Taiwanese friend saved me by giving me a quick summary of the rules. 😀
The atmosphere during the match is amazing. There were cheers, and dances for the Home Team (KT wiz) and each player have their own cheering song/rhythm! It was an eye-opening experience for me as this is the first time I watch a match live.
The home team (kt wiz) won Doosan Bears (8:0), and we had an afterparty arranged for kt wiz supporters! To me, it felt like a non-alcoholic clubbing session 🤣🤣
Closing: Writer’s Thoughts
It has been a wonderful yet stressful month for us. New living environment, adjusting to classes, and learning another language. Our school workload is piling up, but there are many places for us to explore 😦
We added many places in our bucket list for us to go to after Mid-terms end! I can’t wait to take more pictures when we visit the places XD
See you guys next time!
With love,
Yong Lin
